About the Gyðja

Diana L. Paxson has been a consecrated priestess since 1982. In addition to pioneering the recovery of Oracular Seidh, she is the founder of the Fellowship of the Spiral Path. and an Elder in the Covenant of the Goddess and of the Troth, which she is currently serving as Coordinator of the Clergy Training Program, Director of Publications, and editor of the journal, Idunna.

Ms Paxson is also well known as the author of fantasy and historical novels and short stories featuring pagan religion, and non-fiction articles for SageWoman and Pangaea magazines. Her most recent publication is Ancestors of Avalon. She also edited the fantasy anthology Sword and Sorceress XXI. Her next book will be Taking up the Runes: A Guide for Study and Experience, to be published by RedWheel/Weiser in May, 2005. She is currently working on a new novel in her Westria series, The Golden Hills of Westria, and a non-fiction book, A Concise Guide to Asatru.
